  • Confirm if transit visa is required for any connections.

    Check with your airline in case you have connecting flights overseas as part of your journey to Switzerland. It may be the case that countries you pass through en route to your destination may require a separate transit visa. Please refer to visa requirements of the specific country

    Switzerland COVID-19 travel restrictions

    • Entry is open
      Switzerland is open for travel from the EU and Schengen countries, as well as some third-countries and partners of Swiss residents and citizens. Internally, most restrictions have been lifted.

      Swiss citizens, permanent residency holders, holders of other specified permits or visas, EU or EFTA citizens and some of their family members are exempted from this restriction.
      Prior to arrival requirements
      Valid passport. Valid national passport with at least 6 month remaining validity after the date of departure.
      Valid visa. Please see the instructions above if visa is needed and apply.
      Negative COVID-19 test prior to arrival. Travelers who in the last 10 days, have stayed in a country with an increased risk of infection, are subject to the requirement for a pre-departure negative PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival. Children under 16 years old are exempted.
      Health form is required for all travelers arriving in Switzerland. You can get the health form from our site.
      Upon arrival restrictions
      🏠Quarantine is required for travelers who stayed in countries with increased infection. The quarantine can be shortened with a negative result to a PCR test taken on day 7.

      People who have been vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 are exempted from testing and quarantine requirements when entering Switzerland (unless they are traveling from areas with variants of concern).
